Confessions of a former Christian Book Store Owner

The last time I wrote on this Blog, I was saying farewell to an era. The closing of “A Cup of Cold Water” Pre-owned Christian Books. That was 8 months ago.

After closing the book store we moved to Cannon Beach, OR.

It’s been a journey. New town, new people, and hardest of all…. Finding “my place”. I found myself going from busy store owner living her passion day to day… to not knowing what to do, or where I fit in! Oh, I still had the same passions….just how to put those to work in our new environment was the challenge.

I am passionate about helping out authors and speakers promote their gifts. Giving them a platform to bring their messages to those who will be benefited by them. I found it a real loss to no longer have that platform. It’s been an ache in my heart and an unfulfilled longing.

As time went on I found myself able to find some outlets for my abilities and what I feel is my calling. I still feel stifled, but I am easing into an array of areas to use my gifts. I know God has given me this drive and will satisfy it. Currently I am writing short devotionals which are used each morning to inspire volunteers. I am working on a book myself, that may or may not ever be read by any one but myself! But it’s been fun! I do the book buying for a small book store. I have been given the opportunity to do some author publicity as well, for some great authors and speakers!

So herein is my brief summary of the journey of a former Christian book store owner!
